Has anyone done a online banking risk assessment?
For CU's that do ACH Origination for Business members, do you require Board approval (corporate resolution) authorizing designated employees who can sign this agreement on behalf of the CU?
Hi all, well it is that time of year again. I am beginning my 2012 RA plan and calendar. Our examiner stated that there were no "holes" in my calendar but I am always on the lookout for new ideas and info. I always like to mix things up and take a new tack in my audit world. If you are willing to share your RA and calendar for 2012 (if you have gotten that far!) I would be glad to see it. Also my new goal for 2012 is to work on audit hours budget. I have a couple of examples from years past years but the most recent is from 2009.
I'm doing some research for my CEO regarding and in-house IT Auditor. If you have an IT Auditor on your staff I would appreciate any information that you could provide. At what size did your credit union hire your IT Auditor? Could you share the salary range and job description? We currently outsource the IT audit (risk assessment) annually to one of the big firms and will continue to do so, but are considering adding IT expertise to our audit staff. Thanks for your help.Karen Breau, VP Internal AuditNMTW Community Credit UnionLowell, MAkbreau@nmtwcu.or
I am curious whether other credit unions perform penetration testing every year. Is this an actual requirement, or is it simply best practice? This testing can be costly, and I am curious whether the penetration test can be performed every few years, rather than annually. Any feedback on this topic would be helpful. Thanks, Scott Adams
Our Safety and Soundness Examiner recommended having a voluntter (Board/Supervisory/Credit Review) sit on the ALCO Committee. My question is for credit unions between $500 M and $1.2 M in assets, do you have a volunteer on the committee. If so, is he a voting member. When you respond, please provide me with your asset size. Thanks
Hi allI am starting this audit and wonder if anyone has an audit program yet in place. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi,I just identified a $100,000 check disbursement that was initiated via our home banking system. It is a business account. The check was against collected funds. From the endorsement and receiving institution it appears the check was for a legitimate purpose. This just seems like a very large dollar amount via home banking. Does your CU have a maximum dollar limit for check disbursements; are large dollar checks subject to review prior to mailing? Thanks,David ButzBlackhawk Community Credit Union
Does anybody have any type of risk assessment for the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA)? We are looking for an example of what types of things other CUs are looking at to identify this type of activity.
For those of you who use automated loan decision software for new loans, what kind of controls do you have over the loan process? Thanks.
