Ad-hoc requests for research

Good morning,

There are times when our department receives ad-hoc requests for research on a particular topic.  For example, recently an employee in the audit department attended a training and there was discussion about not using a certain form - we brought up the issue to lending and they were happy with us pursuing the issue a little further by sample testing to determine if the form was indeed not being used.

Does your department run in to scenarios like this?

Do you do anything more than an email communication with results/recommendations?

Do you officially track any results/recommendations?

Any input is appreciated!  Thank you!
