How have you handled any internal candidates for open audit positions within your department? I know the standards require internal auditors to refrain from assessing specific operations for which they were previously responsible within the previous year. The potential internal candidate is currently an Assistant Financial Center Manager (aka Assistant Branch Manager). As long as she does not audit the specific financial center (branch) she managed for one year, what is your opinion on a former assistant manager auditing the other financial centers?
