Does anyone utilize "Guidelines" in support of Policies and Procedures
Guidelines consist of recommended, non-mandatory controls that help support policy, procedures or standards or serve as a reference when no applicable standard is in place.
They are normally viewed as best practices or aids in making a decision. For example, Reg CC says 2 day hold on checks.
Guidelines would help you determine when you may not place a hold or when you may extend it if it is not a cut and dry
decision.
