I was wondering if any of you employee a Personnel Safety Officer. We have a Security Officer who is responsible for facilities, robbery training, maintain security equipment, branch access, and works with business continuity team. I am the Risk Management Officer and Fraud is under my span of control. My fraud investigator wants to become our Safety Officer and manage policies, business continuity for the branches, robbery training, and respond to branch incidents. It is my position and those of management that this should remain a function of Facilities and the Security Officer. As the function itself has some risk components and we can provide support but not control. Are any of your departments set up this way where physical security is under the span of control of risk management?
