Wondering if any one that is around $1B could let me know how you perform quality control for consumer loans.  Do you have a dedicated person, or department?  If so, do you consider the expense justifiable.  OR are you handling QC by some other means.  I am trying to build a case for implementing at QC department or person and need to convince mgmt that the expense is worthwhile.

Does anyone utilize dashboards or automatic checklists? Currently, all of our different departments use a variety of checklists to evidence performance of certain tasks and review of certain reports. We would like to do this electronically using some sort of software. Do any of you use anything similar?

Hi All,

We have just wrapped up a Corporate Credit Card Audit. We discovered that there are no restrictions on cash advance transactions. Currently, a cardholder can perform a cash advance up to their credit limit. We have recommended that the CU place limits on cash advance transactions. How many of you that have corporate credit cards even allow cash advance transactions? What is your policy on cash advances?

Thanks, Samantha Cornell

Does anyone have a policy and/or thoughts on this subject?  Use of a personal credit card (whether or not a corporate card is available) to pay for credit union expenses, and then submitting those expenses for reimbursement?  People like to do this to get "points" or "miles".  Is this ethical in light of the fact that it's a benefit some, but not all, employees can take advantage of?  I'm most interested to hear your thoughts on the subject!Lori ChaseRivermark CU

We are searching for a new Check 21 vendor which includes imaging software for loan documents.  Can anyone suggest a company that they have had experience with. Thanks Sissy Lunde SissyL@northshorefcu.org

According to NCUA guidance, uncollected negative balances from courtesy pay should be reported as unsecured credit on the quarterly Call Report, and the unused available courtesy pay "credit lines" should be reported as unused commitments on the Call Report.  This seems pretty straight-forward to me, but are there alternate ways of handling the reporting?  Thank you

Does anyone have an ACH Risk Assessment they'd be willing to share?  juliew@iqcu.comThanks!!

Does your credit union request a signed application before issuing a card when a member applies for a credit card online or through the Call Center? Are there Red Flag issues surrounding not requiring a signed application?  Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Does anyone have a good ICQ or Audit Program for Call Center Operations?

Hello,The link provided through the brochure for the hotel using the special rate is not working for me. Is anyone else having that problem? What is the group code? Thanks,Samantha CornellBayPort CU

Our RE manager tells us that it is standard practice to leave a blank deed of trust in loan files "just in case" the loan later is sold on the secondary market. We told her we consider this a risk as leaving any blank form in a loan file is a risk. I wanted to check and see if leaving a blank deed of trust in an RE loan file is standard procedure at other credit unions (I've personally never heard of this). Thanks!

Is anyone aware of any required annual training for lending other than Security, Red Flag and compliance changes? What do you as auditors look for when verifying regulation training in the lending department?

I was curious at what level loan modifications are approved within your CU?  Is it approved by the head of collections or lending if these departments are separated?  If it is collections, how is this person granted the authority to approve these modifications?  Also would be helpful information is asset size.  Thank you!

Is anyone willing to share their Internal Control Questionnaire for Loan Officers and New Account Representatives?  I am revising ours and am very interested in seeing the type of questions other credit union's ask. If you are willing to share my email address is: bkennedy@mymax.com

For those credit unions that have multiple branches, how often do you perform a cash audit of the vault?  Until recently, all our branches were local and it wasn't an issue.  Now we have acquired one branch over two hours away and are possibly looking at other state-wide branches.  How are the cash audits handled in credit unions like this?  Frequency and who performs the audit is my initial focus, howerver, if there are things to consider I may not be aware of since this is new for us, please feel free to let me know. Thanks for all your help!

I'm looking for some input from all of you regarding how your CU handles daily report reviews.Does the internal audit review all such reports (such as member and loan file maintenance, variable rate loan changes, new loan reports, HELOC payment change reports, etc.), or do the applicable departments review daily? We are just establishing our internal audit department, so I'm looking for input from others.

I need to know what to look for in an internal auditor we are thinking of hiring and want to know the best way. I know they will have to report to the supervisory Committee any suggustions?

Hi all,Reg Z was ammended with compliance effective 4-1-11. Part of it states under "Presumption of Compliance" that the creditor shall compensate a fee that is customery and reasonable comparable appraisal services performed in the geographic market of the property"...how do you determine what is comparable in the markets? I have a list of fee's charged by our appraisers but how do I determine that they compare to others and are reasonable? Any help would be appreciated.thanks,

Hi all,I am wondering if any of you have supplies at the branches that would used when there is a power outage or other occurance that does not fall under a major disaster scenario(for which we do have major supplies). When I was at a branch (all those years ago!) we had specific items for a case like a power outage. Included were flashlights, signage for the doors, solar calculators etc. When I sent out an inquiry to our branches no one knew what I was talking about..any of you have anything similiar?thanks,

The Audit Guide is up and running, but still in the building process.  I encourage each of you to submit an audit program or 2.  I have been trying to submit as many as I can, especially for topics which have been requested on this Forum (such as the recent MBL request.)  Even if there is already one of the same areas, please submit, as it will give our members that much more of a choice.  Send any submissions to:   gbacino@acuia.orgThanks!

Has anyone constructed an audit for compliance with the UIGEA?  I was hoping to not spend time reinventing the wheel if at all possible.  Thank you!

I have not been able to find any guidelines on suggested retention for recorded phone calls from our Call Center.  Does anyone know of any best practices or guidelines for this?  How long do you store your calls?
