Good Afternoon to all,We are finally looking at remote deposit capture and I am hoping folks can share policies/procedures; enrollment qualifications for members, etc. Have you had significant losses? Acctg VP was curious if there are problems with the same check being deposit multiple times? How is that prevented? Obviously I/we have not research this topic in depth.....it has been on the far, far back burner of our CU. Anything you can share will be greatly appreciated.Thank you!Heidiheidin@fortbraggfcu.org

We come up with an annual audit plan and the general plan approved by the Supervisory Committee indicates which month the audit will be conducted. Internally, IA has an audit calendar by week for 52 weeks.to help us stay on track but we do move things around as needed, and Committee does not hold us to original approved month. We provide the audit plan to CEO and Board chair but without the audit month. Some questions:
1. How much notice do you give mgmt as to when an audit will be conducted? (assuming it is not a surprise cash count)Link to delete content:Link to edit content: -

In addition to our Internal Audit Charter which is a general overview of roles and responsibilities we have an "Agreement" between management and the Supervisory Committee which is more procedural in nature. We are re-negotiating some of these procedures.
We issue a preliminary audit report which the responsible VP and VP Risk Management review and discuss and let us know if they have any comments, questions, concerns etc. We would like to stipulate in our agreement a time frame for their review (management wants no time-frame)

Who in your CU is responsible for the administration and compliance with the SAFE Act?Ours is assigned to HR but no one seems to have a good reason why, so HR asked if I could survey other credit unions. It seems to me Lending or Compliance would be responsible for complying.Thank you,

I am sure we are all thinking about our audit plan for next year. Would anyone be willing to send me what you used as your audit plan for this year? If so you can email it to c.heffernan@summitcu.com. Thanks.

Hi everyone,Do you originate ACH items for your member businesses? We are considering adding it. If you do, I could use the pros and cons for management, along with your asset size. If you don't, I could use the reasons why you don't and your asset size. thanks Beverly McMahon

We perform several loan audits a year, generally a different loan type each quarter. No matter what loan type audit we perform, there is a reoccurring issue of staff not getting the required documentation. Just like to get an idea of how other credit unions handle this.
Does your credit union perform any sort of loan review? What percentage of loans is being reviewed? What department/level does the review reside with (i.e., branch, separate QA, internal audit, etc.)?
Thanks in advance for your help.

1. If you have a Board website for Board communications and distributing meeting reports etc, does your Supervisory Committee have access to that Board website, and everything on the Board website (e.g. same access as the Board)? Or does the Supervisory Committee have access but is restricted to a Supervisory Committee section?
2. Does a member of management attend the Supervisory Committee meetings? If so who and what is their role?
