Does anyone have a travel expense form they are willing to share?  Our BOD would like something more simplified.

Hi Everyone! In the state of Michigan, escheat rules are 3 years of inactivity for all deposit type account, EXCEPT for automatically renewing term deposits. For automatically renewing term deposits, the escheat period is 15 years! Because we determine dormancy and escheatment by the membership as a whole rather than for each suffix on the members' account, we are running into problems.

Do any of you work with institutions that have very small branches (so small that you only have 1 employee at the branch)? We have two branches that only have one employee, and another 4 branches (nestled within department stores) that only have 2-3 employees. How do you ensure proper controls are taking place when there aren't enough employees to ensure dual control over activities?

Our credit union has recently changed ATM processors from Co-Op to FiServ EFT.  When with Co-Op, we had to complete a PIN & Key Encryption audit every two years.  I haven't been able to determine if there is a similar requirement with FiServ, but I am suspecting there is.  Does anyone have experience with this processor and their requirements?Lori ChaseRivermark Credit Union

Question - Each teller at our branches are assigned a drawer that is theirs each time they work. Each drawer is kept in a locked compartment when the teller is not working, with themselves and the Branch Manager being the only individual with access to the key that opens that compartment. When on the front line, drawers are secured with a locked drawer (a cash drawer within a regular drawer if you will).

Hello all: Some of you have already seen this and responded via email (thank you), but I am posting here on the forum too..... I am researching the area of compliance and trying to figure out how others have their credit unions set up with regards to internal audit handling compliance or having compliance officers.  Our Credit Union added an Internal Auditor position (me) back in Sept. of 2009.  We are small, but there is a need for someone to reel it in and focus some time on compliance.
